Stress and Illness?

Dr. Leonard Coldwell says that 84% of illnesses stem from stress, while about 16% is pretty much from lack of nutrition. Stanford University noted that up to 95% of illness is stress related. Either way, stress seems the main factor in our overall health and well-being. Stress is normal, it's how we let it affect us that matters.

Illness is said to be from a lack of energy; stress depletes energy. Often people encounter negative stress because of fear. Fear results often from lack of preparation. Lack of preparation brings fear, which brings stress, which equates to loss of energy, which in turn causes illnesses. All of these are our body's cries for help. Who's there to help? Trust in Allah equals optimism.

The unfortunate one is he who falls down and remains down, while the successful one is he who gets knocked down and gets back up. Some say there is no such thing as failure, but rather results. If you take action, you either succeed and/or you get wiser (barring a few exceptions). We must learn to keep optimistic at all times. As I often tell others, it;s humane to worry a little, but too much worrying shows lack of yaqeen in our Lord. Trust in Allah equals optimism. (I had to say it twice.) ---------- It's said that the brain uses 70-80% of your food energy to fuel your tensions and worries. It's almost like 93 octane gas, while a calm, relaxed person is using 87 octane (you can get away with eating less).
